Superman: Red Son is a three-issue comic book mini-series distributed by DC Comics that was released under their Elseworlds imprint in 2003. It received huge critical acclaim and was nominated for the Eisner award in 2004 for the best-limited series.
Recently, The exclusive first trailer of Superman: Red Son was released. This time Warner brothers have come up with an animated movie version of Superman: Red Son which will be released in early 2020.
The story shows alternate versions of DC super-heroes such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern with alternate-reality versions of real political figures such as Joseph Stalin and John F. Kennedy.
Voice cast is of the animated movie includes Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman, with Amy Acker as Lois Lane, Diedrich Bader as Lex Luthor, Roger Craig Smith will depict the Batman, Sasha Roiz as Hal Jorden adaptation of Green Lantern, Phil Morris as James Olsen, Paul Willian as Brainiac, and William Salyers as Joseph Stalin.
The motion picture will be an independent idea separate from the DC animated film universe. Jason Isaacs is featuring as Superman.
The movie is based on the three-issue mini-series of a similar name from 2003. It was initially written by Marvel’s Civil War and Old Man Logan creator, Mark Millar.
The movie is based on the imagination where Kal-El’s rocket lands in the USSR in the 1950s instead of a farm in Smallville and Superman becomes a champion of Soviet values instead of growing up in Kansas and fighting for “truth, justice.
The Superman: Red Son movie was first announced at Comic-Con in July, and announced to be the first DC movie release of 2020 with Superman: Man of Tomorrow and Justice League Dark: Apokolips War coming later in the year.
For an audience, the story might get a bit surprised when the most powerful superhero will not be a Hero of America.
